For the freshers who are mesmerized by computers, codes and ciphers, Metis presented in a session of the Foundation Program, the multiple aspects, applications and opportunities that coding has. Also, students were taught about the multiple paradigms and with help of games like Code Monkey, basic algorithms were explained.
Aimed at making every newbie to love programming, the Club started the new initiative of introducing code through Scratch, the GUI based product from MIT.
Based on the fun-easy-to-use platform of Scratch participants were asked to develop something unique and innovative without the need to struggle with lines of codes, which resulted in high participation for the new event. The projects were judged by Prof. Bireswar Das and winners were awarded cash prizes worth INR 10,000/-
Functional Programming is an integral paradigm of many programming languages. It is thus important to know about things that are not in the curriculum but are important. We had a session by Prof. Bireswar Das. The various aspects of writing programs in Haskell, the structuring and benefits were taught. The event received a great response from student community in terms of attendance.
The club believes that every member should at least be able to write his own portfolio web page and know basic web development. Each member made a portfolio at the end of the workshop.

An app which lets you order food, from your room, to the dorm canteens and saves your time by reducing the waiting time for your order. This app generates a computer generated bill for the order validation after paying for the order.
Given a Sudoku, the program will be able to complete the Sudoku matrix. An additional feature would be optically read the Sudoku, which is currently being worked on along with perfecting the Sudoku solving algorithm.
