Yesterday night in IISc, while having dinner, I looked around. Noticed that my friends were Muslim, Christian, Hindu and Sikh. Everyone enjoyed and gossiped. Something hit my mind……Is it possible?
I could not understand why our history could not escape from cruel fights for territory.Thought over it, found that behind every conflict, their is an idea – idea of superiority. We have failed to understand that in the end everything is atom and cells. At this point of time, over 1000 million dollars are being spent over defense by USA, China, Russia, KSA and France. Is this needed?
Yes, this crap will be needed unless we learn to accept other human beings as we accept ourselves. All this money can be invested in research and raising the life standards. But we all want to understand our equations, not this.
Everywhere today, I see examples: Russia-Ukraine, Buddhist-Muslim in Srilanka, China-Tibbet, India-Pakistan, Iraq conflict and many more invisible. People don’t wanna change the downtrodden ideologies. But the reality is, ideas can be changed, have to be changed for peaceful future.
I hope there would be a time in my life, when i could relate my dinner analogy to the world.
The solution to this lies within every individuals. If we fail to see another being as we see see ourselves, then wars will happen. When the reasons and causes become greater than the sanctity of peace, wars will happen. And believe me ever the war begins outside , it would have began in inside first, where there is no ceasefire and it is going on and on 24/7. It’s our high time to address the war there.
