One fine day in July 2013, I left Delhi to catch a train for Gujarat with my mind full of thoughts and there were lots of unsettling questions…
The most prominent among them was- have I made the right decision to pursue Masters in an IIT that is operating from its temporary campus!
The question haunted me until I reached VGEC- back then the IITGN’s Campus.
As I was walking towards the blue sheds for the orientation program at 8:30 AM on 26th July 2013, I somehow felt I was meant to be at this place…
I realized that each place has its own charm and that can never be measured in acres!
Days passed and each day inked its memory that was going to be retained forever.
The library, though small, always attracted me to engage in the intellectual…
The well lit rooms of sheds didn’t just receive me for the classes, but were also a sole companion of those all-nighters during exam time!
The mess (a MESS!) was more than just a place for meals- it was a place where one could check out the whole student population of IITGN while standing in line.
The sporting extravaganza during Jashn & Hallabol covered each nook and corner of the campus & it was one of its kind occasions…
And the most happening place, the K-Block Lawn, was the place of festivities- as it witnessed Holi, Janamashtami, the glamour & gigs of Blithchron and the sparkling Diwali!
Not just the jollity, but the K-Block Lawn would also be remembered for the most sentimental days of an IITGN graduating student-a heavy heart on Udaan & a sense of accomplishment on Convocation.
And then my home of two years, Ashok Vihar, was more than just a mere hostel. H-202 has its own share of stories that I will always treasure…
Two years just flew by, but they left me with umpteen memories that I will cherish for a lifetime- memories that belong solely to IITGN (VGEC) Campus!
Au revoir IITGN_VGEC_CAMPUS!!!
